Tax Free Childcare opens to parents whose youngest child is under 6 on 24th November

A childcare service update was issued today which reiterated the government’s commitment to the 30 hours scheme and Tax Free Childcare whilst recognising that some parents did not receive the intended quality of service over the summer due to technical issues and glitches. It adds that the government acted quickly to address these problems through overall improvements to the service and by compensating parents.

It also states that, on 24th November 2017, Tax Free Childcare will open to parents whose youngest child is under 6 or who has their 6th birthday on that day.

The planned roll out to all eligible children by the end of December 2017 has been extended to the end of March 2018.
