Existing members of an ESC voucher scheme will be able to choose whether they continue to receive their current childcare vouchers or switch to the new scheme in Autumn 2015. This is a great position to be in –  parents can simply select the scheme that is more financially beneficial.

Remember, there are benefits to ‘employer supported childcare’:

• They are available now (the new scheme doesn’t come into effect until 2015).
• Some parents may be better off with the existing childcare voucher system. Those parents can still continue to take childcare vouchers over the new scheme until it is completely phased in.
• The existing childcare vouchers can be used to pay for registered childcare until a child is 15, (the new scheme will only be available to pay for childcare up until a child is 5 years old initially).
• The existing childcare vouchers are available to families where only 1 parent works, (the new scheme requires both parents to be working).
• The current vouchers are available to higher earning working parents, (the new scheme is not available to parents earning over £150,000).

Childcare vouchers are great for saving you money on your childcare costs but you can also make it easier to pay your childcare provider with electronic childcare vouchers

Why choose e-vouchers?
Electronic childcare vouchers are by far the most popular choice for parents as they give you complete flexibility. The system is similar to online banking.

With each electronic payment you can add a reference – such as your child’s name or nursery ID number – which will show on your childcare provider’s bank statement and childcare voucher account statement. This will help them to keep track of exactly when and how much you pay them, so they have less administration to do and more time to spend with your child.

You can also create a regular automatic payment and, if both you and your partner receive e-vouchers from Sodexo, you can set up a joint account to simplify the payment process even further.

Remember, you can use your vouchers for children up to the age of 15 – including the certain elements of Independent school fees, out-of-hours school clubs, holiday camps and play schemes.

Building on the success of our SayCare online payment platform, our new mobile-enabled website will give busy working parents, like you, the ability to access your SayCare account, view your statement and make childcare voucher payments from your mobile phone (iPhone, Blackberry and Android), from any location, at any time.

You can save a list of your preferred childcare providers, enabling you to pay for ad-hoc childcare (such as the regular baby sitter or the yearly summer camp), on the go, both quickly and easily.

Simply typing https://www.saycarepayments.co.uk/mobile into a smartphone browser will provide immediate access to the service.
