Could new term time holiday restrictions affect you?

In September 2013, the Government introduced stricter policies to prevent parents taking children out of school for holidays during school term time. Parents wishing to secure that cheap last-minute family holiday during school term time might find it difficult to take their children out of school.

Family holidays planned during school time in the past were generally permitted but restricted to ten school days per year. In September the policy changed so that the head teacher now decides how many days your child can be away from school, to prevent them missing out on their education.

These changes could make it difficult for you to take your children out of school for family holidays. What’s more, parents who choose to ignore this could face a costly fine.

If you are currently planning your summer holidays, there are some great offers to make taking your family break during the school holidays more affordable.
